Reindeer Run/Walk
A jolly jog or jaunt (5K - 3.1 miles) through the streets of downtown Charleston during the holiday season. This event is for reindeer of all fitness levels and all ages and benefits MUSC Children's Hospital . Whether it's running or walking the course, be sure to dress in your best holiday costume to win fabulous prizes. Spirituals Concerts at Drayton Hall

2 nd Annual Center for Birds of Prey Oyster Roast
Oysters, chili and hotdogs will be the fare for the day, with blue grass music by Flatt City, walking tours and flight demonstrations. Approximately 90 raptors are in treatment or in residence at the center. Special activities are planned for children and Center volunteers have organized a silent auction to support the center’s work. CSO presents: Handel’s Messiah
Resident Conductor Scott Terrell will lead the Charleston Symphony Orchestra in three performances of Handel’s Messiah, featuring four guest soloists and the Charleston Symphony Orchestra Chamber Chorus. The CSO welcomes Soprano, Margaret Kelly Cook, Countertenor, Ricard Bordas, Tenor, Jeffrey Picon and Baritone Ryan Taylor. The performance will be held at 7:30 pm at Holy Spirit Church, located at 2545 Bohicket Rd. on John’s Island. General admission tickets for Messiah performances are $15. French Quarter Art Walk
Downtown Charleston from 5:00 – 8:00pm. Stroll the cobbled streets and gas lit alley ways to discover the works of well over 500 artists representing a diverse variety of styles and mediums from traditional to contemporary. A Walk in the Woods with the Native Plant Society
The Low Country Chapter of the South Carolina Native Plant Society is
leading a wildflower walk at 10:00am from the Sewee Visitor Center to the area of peak bloom or botanical interest in the Francis Marion National Forest. Lisa Lord, Biologist for Yamen's Hall and Vice President of the Low Country Chapter SCNPS, will lead. Lisa will visit some of the more pristine "gardens" of the Forest and lecture on how those may be duplicated in area restorations.
